Sarah Grant

Sarah is a 26-year-old film maker and animator, born and bred in Glasgow. Her first film post-University, The Cyclist, won the Dream to Screen competition with Cineworld Cinemas and the Media Trust UK. It then went on to be nominated for a BAFTA Scotland New Talent Award and has toured film festivals internationally since then.

After this she worked on a number of creative and corporate projects, which led her to her latest endeavour, when she was the first Scottish person to be awarded the Sky Academy Arts Scholarship in July 2016. With this scholarship she is currently working on a short animation called The Magic Word, a mix of hand drawn and stop motion animation which follows the life of Even, a little girl who lets her life be shaped by the books she reads and the magic she finds between the pages. The Magic Word will be completed towards the end of 2017.

Sarah reads more than any human should, enjoys spoken word poetry and painting shoes in her spare time. She also feels every day she earns a living telling stories is a day she is "getting away with something", but is determined to enjoy it however long it lasts.
